Behavior study of the steel plate girder with a cellular honeycomb web

Based on the experimental test results of authors, this investigation is concerned with finite element analysis to examine and compare load values failure modes authors’ results. This research was conducted using Abaqus software. The work included fabrication twelve plate girders honeycomb flat web corrugation patterns, which were then tested under a single concentrated at midspan. According dimension or outer thickness, steel girder divided into three groups (60 mm, 80 mm 100 mm). specimens also involved web. created lengths (600 1,200 1,800 software used in models simulate load. numerical demonstrated that 60 thick provides greater load-bearing capacity shear strength than other girders. 20 indicates increased improved resistance. conclusion as width increased, so did web’s ultimate strength, resulting positive relationship between critical buckling moment inertia strong axis. When increases, Y axis (Iy) decreases; thus, will fail less (Pcr). Also, it can be concluded thickness resistance increases well. However, spacing intermediate stiffener horizontal panel enhance if decreased due increasing action tension field force resists diagonal developed by applied midspan force.
